Reiki | pronounced ‘ray-kee’  

Reiki is Universal Life Force Energy and is a form of holistic Energy work founded in Japan by a Buddhist monk, Dr. Mikao Usui, in the late 19th Century.   ​  Reiki means Universal Energy or Universal Life Force Energy.   To break it down, 'Rei' means Universal and 'Ki' means Energy.  It is the Japanese equivalent of 'Chi' (Chinese), 'Prana' ( Sanskrit), and 'Life Force' (English).

The core principles of Reiki Therapy are that it is:  

• A practice of transmitting healing energy through the hands passed on from practitioner to client through the attunement process  
• Not guided by the Reiki Practitioner, but guided by your own innate wisdom to guide the Reiki where it is most needed.  
• Reiki energy is not based on religious belief, faith or suggestion but a universal energy that flows through all living things.

Distant Reiki is a technique within the system of Reiki that enables you to receive a Reiki session without the physical presence of a practitioner, and it is based on the perception that we are all energy and are connected. Reiki distant healing is a well-established way of healing that has been in use since the time Reiki was founded.

Keep in mind to approach this healing method with an open heart and mind. Trust yourself and your practitioner. Please wear comfortable clothes for the session and find a quiet place to relax before starting.  Before starting with remote healing sessions, set your intentions of what you would like to address and the outcome you want. 

Place yourself in a quiet, undisturbed room, remaining open to receive the healing energy. Lie down comfortably and feel the positive energy flowing through your body. Everyone’s experience fluctuates depending on your sensitivity to energy. Most commonly, clients report feeling the warmth, waves of energy, tingling sensations on their body, peace, lightness, clarity, deep feelings of relaxation, and release of burdens.  

After the session, you can relax or sleep if you like and can stay in bed, drink lots of water for better energy flow and focus on self-care. Universal Life Force or Universal Energy  exists in all things.  99% of the human body is made up of atoms and atoms contain energy.  Quantum physics teaches us there is no difference between energy and matter. All systems in the human being, from the atomic to the molecular level, are constantly in motion-creating resonance.     

It is the energy’s creative intelligence that helps grow life, maintain, sustain and keep us vibrant and healthy. The higher the vibrational frequency, the greater vitality we experience and the more we thrive physically and psychologically. If one's 'life force energy' or frequency is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.     

It is well understood that the frequency of energy in the body and its cells are affected by many things, the foods we eat, our stress levels, attitudes and mental state, toxins, pollution, traumas and injuries (whether they be physical or psychological). Reiki (or pure Universal Life Force Energy) is utilised in Reiki Treatments and works to raise the frequency cumulatively and, much like an onion, layer by layer it works to restore the body, the mind and the soul to its pure, original state.

The Reiki Practitioner is 'attuned' to the Reiki, allowing them to access  Reiki much like an antenna on a radio tuning into the correct channel. The Reiki Practitioner acts as a conduit between the Reiki and yourself, 'plugging you in' to the Reiki using a series of hand positions (mainly on the torso and head) which are the main energy centres of your body.  ​  Your energy body innately knows where the Reiki is needed and via the Reiki Practitioner, draws the Reiki for as long as it is needed.

Both a Reiki II Practitioner and a Reiki Master have the same capacity to channel Reiki for clients as they have received the same level of attunement and training needed to practice Reiki professionally.     

Level II Reiki training which earns the Practitioner the title of Reiki Master focuses solely on preparing and 'attuning' the Reiki II Practitioner to teach Reiki to others and to pass Reiki down to students via the attunement process.  ​  

When seeking a Reiki Practitioner, it is recommended that you seek a Second Degree Reiki Practitioner (Reiki II) or a Level III Master as both have the same capacity to access Reiki and facilitate Reiki for others. Our Reiki practitioners are certified Masters, qualified to both serve and teach Reiki.

It is important to know your Reiki Therapist's Lineage, as this is a way that you can verify and ensure that they are qualified and practicing authentic Reiki Therapy.    

Reiki is passed on in person from Teacher to student in a process called 'attunement' over and over. An authentic Reiki Practitioner will have a succession of Teachers leading directly back to the founder of the system of Reiki one is practicing (this is called 'Lineage').    

It is recommended that you seek a Reiki Practitioner whose lineage traces directly back to Dr. Mikao Usui. All our practitioners have a direct lineage back to Dr. Mikao Usui.

Yes.  Reiki works for animals in the same way that it works for humans.   In fact, Reiki can also be used for plants, geographical areas, personal or business issues, situations and even world events. 

As Reiki works with energy and frequency, Reiki can be used for anything that has energy resonance.

All Reiki Treatments, Reiki Mentoring, Meditation and Coaching appointments require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation and the cancellation will be added as credit back onto your account for the said service. If an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the booking the full fee is charged and non-refundable or transferrable. Prepaid cancellations before the cancellation period expires will be credited in full to a persons account for future use. 

By booking and receiving a Reiki session, clients agree to accept full responsibility that they solely are in charge of their life journey, life choices, and transformation, and agree to take complete responsibility for their own health and well-being, and for the decisions that lead to necessary shifts in attitudes, nutrition and lifestyle.

Clients understand and agree that in order for healing to take place, several treatment sessions is often necessary to support the healing process. While it is possible that one Reiki treatment can make a difference for your health, most long term imbalances were not created overnight and sometimes require multiple Reiki sessions in order to facilitate the healing process. Clients recognize that this process will take commitment and time.

Your role during the session is to be as open to receive as you can be.

With any feedback and suggestions that is offered or recommended, clients are fully responsibly for any decisions made thereafter, and agree that anything offered by the practitioner doesn’t come with any guarantees for effectiveness or success. Your Oilology Reiki Master Practitioner is not liable for the results of decisions, actions, life choices, or changes that are made based on the provided guidance and feedback received as part of a Reiki session.

The client agrees to waive any claim towards Oilology for any physical, emotional, or psychological changes, detox symptoms, transformations or changes in outcome that may or may not be observed after a Reiki session.
